Gougere (Gruyere Cheese Ring)
INGREDIENTS:
1 Cup Milk
1/2 Cup Butter
1 Cup Flour
4 Eggs, Slightly Beaten
3 Ounces Gruyere, Shredded
DIRECTIONS:
"Heat oven to 400 degrees. Heat milk and butter to rolling boil in 2-qt. pan. Stir in flour. Stir vigorously over low heat about 1 minute; remove from heat. Beat in 4 eggs all at once; beat until smooth. Fold in 2/3 C. cheese. Drop by tablespoons onto greased sheet in 8"" ring; smooth with spatula. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake 50-60 minutes."
