Stuffed Green Peppers

INGREDIENTS:

6 Green Peppers
16 Ounces Ground Beef
2 Tablespoons Onion, Chopped
1 Teaspoon Salt
1/8 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
1 Cup Cooked Rice
15 Ounce Can Tomato Sauce
3/4 Cup Mozzarella, Shredded

DIRECTIONS:

"Cut thin slice from stem end of each pepper. Remove seeds and membranes; rinse. Place peppers cut sides up in glass pie plate. Cover with plastic; microwave 3 minutes. Cook and stir meat and onion in 10"" skillet until meat is light brown; drain. Stir in salt, garlic powder, rice, and 1 C. of the tomato sauce; heat through. Stuff peppers with meat mixture; stand upright in baking dish. Pour remaining sauce over peppers. Cover; cook in 350 degree oven 45 minutes. Uncover; cook 15 minutes longer. Sprinkle with cheese. "
