Microwave Bread And Butter Pickles

INGREDIENTS:

1 Cucumber, Sliced
1 Onion, Thinly Sliced
1 Cup White Sugar
1 Teaspoon Salt
1/4 Teaspoon Celery Seed
1/2 Teaspoon Mustard Seed
1/4 Teaspoon Ground Turmeric
1/2 Cup White Vinegar

DIRECTIONS:

In a microwave safe bowl, mix cucumber and onion.

In a pint-size measuring cup, mix sugar, salt, celery seed, mustard seed and turmeric. Add white vinegar and whisk until well mixed. Pour vinegar mixture over cucumbers and onions and toss.

Microwave on high 2 minutes, then stir. Microwave on high another 3 minutes, and stir again. Microwave on high a final 2 minutes.

Transfer to a sterile container, seal and chill in the refrigerator until serving.
