Best Oatmeal Cookies


INGREDIENTS:

1-1/4 Cup Butter Softened
3/4 Cup Brown Sugar, Firmly Packed
1/2 Cup Sugar
1 Egg
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
1-1/2 Cups All Purpose Flour
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
1/4 Teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
3 Cups Oats (quick Or Old Fashioned), Uncooked

DIRECTIONS:

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Beat butter and sugars until creamy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add combined flour, baking soda, salt and spices; mix well. Stir in oats. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 9 minutes for a chewy cookie, 10 to 11 minutes for a crisp cookie. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack.
